Klamath Basin Birds


These are the Sandhill Cranes in Northern California just south of Stateline Road.  Farmers get free access to these Federal Refuge lands if they commit one third of their grain plantings for the birds.  And, they came in the hundreds this day.


They came and went at will all afternoon.


These shots are as precious to me as those of the Saddle Back Stork pictures from Crooks Corner on the Limpopo River.  (Don’t tell anyone, but these three pictures are going to be Christmas presents for some family).
